Indo Global Leap 2012 the Mega Pool Campus drive conducted at the Abhipur Campus of Indo Global Colleges, near Chandigarh registered an overwhelming response with thousands of participants thronging the campus on all the days of the placement fest. In all over 3200 Graduates, Post Graduates, Diploma Holders, Hospitality Management students, Final year B.tech Engineering and MBA students from Colleges across the region like Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal, SSIET Dera Bassi, SUSCET Tangori, Baba Hira Singh College Bhattal, GGSCMT Kharar, ITM Gurgaon, SVIET Banur, BMAS Engineering College, Agra; LPU Phagwara, IET Bhaddal, Sri Sai College of Engineering, Pathankot etc to name a few, participated in the selection process.  Over 29 Companies represented by their HR Heads, production heads, and concerned vertical heads visited the campus to enroll the best of talent available at the campus. The participating Companies included IEC Gensets, Airtel, Videocon, Genpact, Kanwar Enterprises, Volkswagon, Agilyst, Red Alkemi, Dominoes, Coffee Café Day, Iqbal Inn, Ids Infotech, Karrox, Big bazaar, KC Royal Park, Advance Technology, Karman Infotech, Max media technologies, Digitech, Bhagwati Steels, IIMA Copnsultants, JCBL, Innovative Project Solutions, Ingenious Net Soft Private Limited, NHIL, Bonanza and Intellisense.

Videocon and IEC Gensets came in on the first day exclusively for the Engineering and MBA students of Indo Global Colleges while the rest of the Companies came in on the following days for open job fest for students of all colleges. Videocon shortlisted 24 candidates from B.Tech Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology and Management. IEC Gensets channel partners for Kirloskars shortlisted 11 B.Tech Mechanical Engineers, Electronics Engineers and MBA Marketing candidates. The selection process followed by both Videocon and IEC Gensets comprised of Group Discussions followed by Technical and Personal Interviews.     
9 Candidates were selected by Airtel, 11 by Genpact, 10 by Kanwar Enterprises, 4 by Volkswagon, 15 by Agilyst, 17 by Red Alkemi, 5 by Dominos, 22 by Karman Infotech, 17 by Intellisense, 12 by Max Media technologies, 7 by Digitech, 7 by IDS Infotech, 11 by IIMA Consultants, 7 by NHAI, 3 by CCD, 11 by Karrox, 8 by Big Bazaar, 6 by KC Royal Park and 12 by Advance technologies.

Er. Navdeepak Singh Sandhu, Placement officer of Punjab Technical University, Jallandhar graced the event as Chief Guest. He interacted with all the participating Companies and some of the candidates and expressed his satisfaction on the meticulous arrangements made for such a mega event.  Mr. Sandhu emphasized on the importance of industry interface to ensure that students are well conversant with the needs of the industry and gear themselves up to obtain good placements in the final year of their academic career.

Job Fair 2012 of Indo Global Colleges A Grand Success

With 217 job offers from 30 participating Companies in the two day Job Fair exclusively for B.Tech Computer Science, IT and MBA students the event was indeed a grand success. Over 3200 students from nearby Colleges such as Chandigarh Group of College Landran, UBS Chandigarh, Rayat & Bahra Kharar, Doaba Group of Colleges, SVIET Banur, Dr. IT Banur, Gyan Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology participated in the drive.

The participating Companies were E-nest, Netgains, Intersoft Professionals, Solutions Beyond, Noviya Systems, Viprasoft, Red Alkemi, Mindfire Technologies, Idea Foundation, Karman Infotech Pvt. Ltd looking for smart young B.Tech Computer Science & IT Freshers for various positions like Web Designers, Software Engineers, Network Engineers and Trainees. For MBAs the participating Companies were Reliance Communications, Volkswagen, Irle Kay Jay Rolls Pvt. Ltd, BCL Homes, Advanta Innovations, ISS Hi Care, Birla Sun Life, Bonanza Portfolio Pvt. Ltd, Amelcs, Intellisense, Abode Realtors, Max Media Technologies, Karman Infotech Pvt. Ltd, HDFC Bank, Edeilweiss & Noviya Systems recruiting for positions in Marketing, Finance and HR Verticals.

In all 217 candidates were shortlisted of which 115 were MBA and 102 were B.Tech Computer Science and IT Freshers. 27 candidate shortlisted by HDFC Bank, 21 by Reliance Communication, 23 by Max Media Technologies, 25 by Intellisense, 18 by Advanta Innovation, 18 by Solutions Beyond, Irle Key Jay Rolls 10, BCL Homes 10, ISS Hi Care 9, Bonanza Portfolio Pvt Ltd 4, Amelcs 3, Abode Realtors 7, Edeilweiss 5, E-nest 7, Netgain 4, Intersoft Professionals 8, Noviya Systems 4, Viprasoft 3, RedAlkemi 4, Mindfire 4 & 3 by Idea Foundation.

The salary packages on offer ranged from Rs. 2 lacs per annum to Rs. 5 lacs per annum with the best offers coming from Irle Kay Jay Rolls who were recruiting MBA with B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering for marketing positions and IntelliSense and Edelweiss who were recruiting both Software Engineers as well as MBAs for Marketing, Finance and HR functions.
On both the days the campus placement drive commenced at 9.30 am sharp with many Company officials giving a detailed pre placement presentation to familiarize their potential candidates on their Company structure, policies, Job profile and salary packages.

The selection process for all the Companies mostly consisted of Group Discussions and Interviews with almost all of them clearly emphasizing on short listing students exhibiting excellent communication skills, confidence and pleasing personality in addition to their domain knowledge. This was clearly the time for those youngsters who were always active not only in studies but also in extracurricular activities to reap rich benefits. 

The visiting Company officials expressed great satisfaction on the excellent arrangements made by the College authorities in the meticulous execution of such a mega two days campus recruitment drive. Many of them were highly impressed with the enthusiastic student volunteers of the host college Indo Global Colleges, who not only received them on their arrival very warmly but also were always available on hand for their every requirement.

Indo Global Colleges, Abhipur near Chandigarh hosted Campus Recruitment drive for Final Year students of Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications, Ciivil Engineering, Architecture and MBA with Kad Kraft Systems Pvt Ltd and Vodafone. Kad Kraft Systems a renowned and well established Company in the field of Design and Trainings picked up bright students of mechanical  engineering, Electronics, Civil engineering and architecture while Vodafone picked up the final year MBA students for their sales, marketing and service functions for operations such as supply chain management, supplier perspective, client perspective, mobile banking and such other functions of their associates. The salary packages offered by Kad Kraft Systems to the selected candidates were in the range of Rs. 2 lacs to Rs.2.4 lacs per anuum while Vodafone offer was Rs. 2.4 lacs per annum. Kad Kraft Systems shortlisted 20 candidates whereas Vodafone shortlisted 12 candidates. Kad Kraft Systems was represented by Jaspreet Singh Senior HR Manager and Rahul Kaul Sales Engineer and Vodafone was represented by Sekhon and Vikram Vashist from Orion League their associates.

Kad Kraft Systems conducted written test followed by group discussions,  technical and personal interviews for the engineers and architecture students while Vodafone conducted Group Discussions and personal interviews for shortlisting the candidates. The emphasis for the MBA candidates were their personality,presentation, convincing ability and communication skills whereas for the engineering students it was their domain knowledge and communication skills. Students possessing good communication and overall development imbibed within them with their participation in multiferous campus activities excelled in the selection process clearly underlying the fact that corporates look for candidates who not only possess academic knowledge but also exhibit lot of confidence with the ability to express themselves well.

The visiting company officials appreciated the healthy competitive participation of the students  expressing satisfaction on their preparation and positive attitude saying that it clearly shows the positive culture prevalent in the campus. They were very pleased with the natural beauty of the campus location nestling in the foothills of the Shivalik ranges just a few  kilometers drive from Chandigarh making it an ideal learning center.

The third session of Campus Placement Drive at Indo Global College of Engineering for Engineering and Management students concluded with an overwhelming success. The participating companies in the weeklong placement activity were ICICI Bank, Net2Source Inc, Godrej, Ansal Housing, Simplex Infrastructure Limited and Enbake Consulting Private Limited. Over 2100 students from various streams like Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and MBA participated in the placement drive. Besides the students of Indo Global College of Engineering, students in large numbers participated from the nearby colleges such as SPCET Lalru, PCET Lalru, SUSCET Tangori, GGSCMT Kharar, SVIET Banur, DAV Jallandhar, Doaba College, CCET Sector 26 Chandigarh and IET Bhaddal.

ICICI was represented by Mr. Anurag Sharma, Branch Sales Manager. Offering a package of over Rs 2 lacs per annum plus performance incentives, they recruited smart management final year students for business development and customer relationship functions for the Tri-City and Punjab region. Their focus was on good communication skills, pleasing personality and convincing skills. Their selection procedure included Group Discussions followed by Personal Interviews. ICICI shortlisted 22 candidates for positions of business development and customer relations with joining date immediately after completion of final examinations in May 2012.
Net 2 Source Inc is a leading Global Consulting and IT Services Company, headquartered in New Jersey, USA having its offshore support centers in India at Noida & Hyderabad, offering a wide gamut of consulting solutions customized to specific client needs. Net 2 Source offers staffing solutions, web hosting services, contact centre services, workforce management and recruitment process outsourcing solutions to its customers. They recruited 28 candidates from Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology Branches for IT/Technical Recruiter positions for job profile necessitating responsibility for full life cycle of recruitment which includes multi channel sourcing, screening, qualifying, closing, conducting preliminary interviews with candidates to ascertain their competencies, skills and aspirations and maintaining skill matrix of the company’s core skills domains.
The salary package was Rs 4 lacs per annum with additional benefits like free transportation, food & beverages and enrolment in Company sponsored Distance Learning MBA program. The openings were for their office at Greater Noida with joining in June 2012.
Ansal Housing, which is part of the Ansal Group of Companies comprising  Ansal Properties and Ansal Builders Limited shortlisted 27 students from MBA marketing on a Salary package of over Rs.2 lacs per annum plus performance incentives. Simplex Infrastructure Limited, a most sought after Company especially for Civil Engineers visited on 17th March for selection of final year Civil Engineering students. Indo Global Colleges have a long association with Simplex and consequently their Senior Technical Director D N Basu along with his team first gave a pep talk on Campus to Corporate on 16th March followed by recruitment drive on 17th March wherein they selected 11 Civil Engineering students on salary of Rs 3.6 lacs per annum plus additional benefits. Enbake Consulting Pvt Ltd also conducted their selection drive for trainee engineers from final year Computer Science Engineering and IT students offering a package of Rs 2.4 lacs per annum. They shortlisted 23 candidates for their operations in Punjab and Delhi. The selection process followed by both Simplex Infrastructures Limited as well as Enbake consisted of Company Presentation followed by written test to check the domain knowledge of the candidate followed by Technical and Personal Interviews. The final interviews for Simplex was conducted by D N Basu ,Senior Technical Director and for Enbake by Ashwinder Singh, Director.
The Placement Week concluded as a grand success. Commander A S Sethi, Commander R K Lakra and Lt. Commander Harwinder Singh of Indian Navy conducted recruitment drive for fresher engineers under the University Entry Scheme 2011 at Indo Global Colleges, Abhipur Campus. The eligibility criteria laid down was that candidate should have obtained minimum 60 per cent aggregate marks till pre final year up to Semester VI and only final year candidates who have completed their all Semesters in one attempt, that is supplementary if passed then also candidate is not eligible. The new amendment to the eligibility criteria that only those candidates with zero history of backlogs was a dampener to the enthusiastic students; however it clearly indicated that the Indian Navy desires only the very best talent on board. Notwithstanding such stringent eligibility criteria, there was a good turnout of over 200 final year engineers vying with each other for selection as Commissioned officers in the Indian Navy.
The recruitment drive was for selection of Commissioned officers under Short Service Commission in the Technical/Executive Branches of the Indian Navy for course commencing in July 2012, with the selected candidates scheduled to commence training in July 2012 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. The selected candidates would be inducted as Officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo 20 weeks Naval Orientation Course followed by Professional Training in Naval Ships and Training Establishments; commencing with an attractive Salary package of over Rs.6.75 lacs per annum including all facilities such as Time scale promotions upto rank of Commander subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions, Privileges such as free medical facilities,  Furnished Government Accommodation, Group Insurance, Gratuity, Adventure & Sports, Mess facilities etc. 
The selection process commenced with a detailed presentation by Commander Sethi followed by Question and Answer round. The candidates were clearly informed of the selection process which was Group Discussions followed by technical and personal interviews. Of the total candidates only 51 were screened out to fulfill the eligibility criteria and out of this 18 were finally shortlisted.
